The all-new rear-wheel-drive STS is powered by either a 255-hp 3.6-liter V6 or a 320-horsepower 4.6-liter Northstar V8, with available all-wheel drive. STS handling benefits from four-wheel independent suspension, available Magnetic Ride Control and available ZF Servotronic II steering gear. The interior features a tight, well-crafted look with Eucalyptus wood trim, Tuscany leather seats, and the dual-firmness design offer a firmer seat cushion and a softer upper seat for a luxurious feel combined with support. Options include keyless access with push-button start, smart remote start, and a Bose Studio Surround Sound Audio system.

Introduction

The all-new 2005 STS marks Cadillac’s return to the luxury performance segment, replacing the Seville in the Cadillac lineup. The STS is based on the Sigma architecture, which is also the platform for the CTS and CTS-V sedans, and the SRX crossover SUV. The STS styling bears a strong resemblance to the CTS but has a softer, smoother edge to the sharp lines and its own distinct look. The STS name was previously used for the high-performance trim of the Seville. The Seville name was first used on coupe versions of the Eldorado in 1956, and the Seville model debuted in 1976 to compete with European luxury brands. The Seville name was retired with the end of 2004. Seville SLS production ends in December 2003.
