Must have! If you can't afford it new, buy CPO! by 614Banker on 06/08/2010. Trim: 2004 Land Rover Range Rover HSE, Owned 2 years.
Pros: The ride, engineering, finesse and class, exterior design, interior design, color scheme, exclusivity (yeah, I'm vain), monocoque body structure! Too much to pen at this moment.... Go test drive one and you'll be able to understand what I mean. It is like not other SUVs in the high end category. NONE, whatsoever! Drive a Range and the Lexus LX, Porsche Cayenne, Caddilac Escalade, BMW X5, Mercedes GL and other high enders become insufficent. The Range simpliy has the complete package.
Cons: Gas mileage could be better, but it is what I signed up for when I bought a Range. Expensive parts and labor costs, but it goes back to the fact that if you're gonna own a Range, you have to know all these things and accept them as part of owning the most exclusive and prestigeous SUV in the world(The Queen of England and the Royal faily drive them). Just make sure you buy a third party extended warranty if your car runs out of warranty. Normally runs under $2,500 with $0 to $100 deductible for 3 to 5 years. It varies.... there are some good offers out there. Check for BBB certification etc for credibility. Do some research and check out RR owners/enthusiasts forums. It's not expensive...
Overall review: The exterior design is OUTSTANDING! And this is comlemented by an interior that is unmatched for a high end luxury SUV. The V8 engine is matched with the vehicle to the point where driving it and auto shifting the gears is totally seamless. Powerful engine that shows up well on highways. Afterall, it is a BMW product, nuff said! The vehicle's monocoque body structure gives you this very SOLID feel; especially at high speeds. Very easy to overspeed without noticing... so there's a caveat to the lead footed amongst us. No screeching or other noises indicative of body wear and tear after 100K+ miles. Try driving over a pot hole or bad roads in a Range and you'll see what I mean. The suspension is also great as well as the color combo: In my case, silver exterior on tan interior. Get complements and stares in traffic all the time. To be honest, I have to shamelessly admit that I like the attention and admiration I get from others. Kinda vain, but I am being totally honest in this review.
