The Good, the Bad... Your Call by TooNice88 on 04/01/2004. Trim: 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, Owned 2 years.

Pros: Car looks fast. Manual Transmissions picks up speed quick. Ext. styling is a plus. Nice to have sun and sound pkg with fold down rear seats. 7 speaker sound system is very good for manufacturer. Guages are never blurred by sun or other car headlights. Drivers side seat adjusts to comfort. Car handles really really well and gets a lot of looks. The exhaust sounds good too, especially around 3000 rpm
Cons: I've never been in a car that had such a bad blind spot. Almost impossible to back car up and parallel park. Through reading ohter reviews, I also had my manual trans problems. Dealer completely replaced manual trans. at no charge after only 17,000 miles. Car looks 'plasticy' on the inside, specifically around the door - no comfortable place to put left arm. Also, limited leg room for driver. If your more than 6'1'', don't get a sunroof. Car is noisy on highway - even with the windows up.
Overall review: I like the car, but I don't likge the cons. Rec. not getting manual trans due to problems (although its fun to drive). The blind spot is really unbelievably bad. Note lack of back seat window. Rear spoiler gets in way of view. Given the price and avail of other cars, I'd still reccommend it, but at least you won't have any surprises.
