German beater by A MSN Autos Consumer on 12/06/2002. Trim: 2003 Lexus LS 430 Sedan, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: If you are German, you need to do 90% to win people's heart. If you are Japanese, you need to achieve 120% of what the Germans had done in order to win their respect. That's what Lexus engineers thought and did with Lexus. When I compare the Mercedes Benz S430 to the Lexus LS430, I can easily see the Lexus winning. The real competition is against the bigger MB S500, and I would still chose the Lexus over the S-class. Why? They are the same cars, Mercedes handles better and has a more elegant styling / But Lexus is more reliable, comfortable, luxurious, user friendly and of course, priced decently.
Cons: None really. I wouldn’t compare Lexus or even Mercedes with the BMW 7series because I feel BMW went to a different direction with their cars (technologically speaking; i-Drive). But the luxury sedan market is definitely within those three cars (Bmw, Lexus and Mercedes Benz). The rest; Audi, Cadillac, jaguar and Lincoln sale fewer cars (I don’t know why, but the market probably thinks that they aren’t as good as the trio)
Overall review: Get a fully loaded one, with the ultra-luxury package. The $12 000 is worth it. This car is probably the best from its class, it defenetly has the most refined ride.
