Pros:
Silky smooth engine and transmission. Suspension so firm that you can tell whether the dime you just ran over was heads or tails. This is not always appreciated on city streets, but hit the curves or really high speeds and you'll understand why sports cars have such stiff suspensions.
Cons:
Only comes with 16 inch wheels. Given the level of performance, 17 inch would have been more appropriate. Other than that, there is absolutely nothing that *I* would improve in this car.
Overall review:
I'm truly baffled by the negative reviews here. Not that the the car is perfect, but the reviews make no sense whatsoever. To compare this car to a Tiburon is laughable, and to recommend cars that cost $10k more is ludicrous. With this car you get a full featured, near-luxury class sports coupe with reliability second to none. If you need speed, get the Type-S. Once you hit 5500 rpms and the iVTEC kicks in for the first time, you'll be in love with this car. I've lost count of the tricked-out, souped-up little rice burners that I've smoked, and whoever said that the Eclipse is faster was very much mistaken. FOR THE MONEY, there is not a faster car.
If you are interested in this car, don't take the word of a bunch of schmucks on here, go to Consumer Reports, Car & Driver, Motortrend, etc. All have recommended this car and all know a lot more about vehicles than anyone who's posted a review here.
