A hobby, not family transportation by An MSN Autos Consumer on 12/06/2006. Trim: 2002 Saab 9-5 Wagon Linear, Owned 2 years.
Pros: It's a good size, and is stylish. The Turbocharger gives it good performance.
Cons: Gas mileage for a four cylinder car is poor. Reliability is also poor. Continually replacing headlight bulbs, and lots of gremlins in the electronics. Service is expensive. A routine service at a SAAB dealer can be described as the $500 car wash. Tires wear out quickly, and the constant filth from brake dust makes it impossible to keep the wheels clean. This car is a hobby, it's not family transportation.
Overall review: I would have a hard time recommending this car. The original sticker was $38,000, and I can't believe that there aren't twenty other cars made that are better values than this one.
