Great fuel economy! by Wayne in Texas on 12/23/2005. Trim: 2002 GMC Safari Passenger Van, Owned 3 years.

Pros: Easy on the gas and great for traveling cross country.

Cons: I bought one with a conversion package (raised top, wood trim, TV/VCP, etc). What I did not realize was that GMC sends a basic white, striped down van to the conversion company who puts the custom paint, windows, seats, seatbelts, carpet, everything...inside the van. When I had a problem with my seatbelts, GMC would do nothing to fix them, blaming the conversion company (who had gone out of business).

Overall review: For the part of the van that is GMC's responsibility, GREAT! For the conversion package, NO. I will never buy another vehicle with a conversion package on it. They raised the top just high enough that it won't fit into my garage and GMC will not accept responsibility for anything that is part of the conversion package. I highly recommend GM products, just steer clear of the add-ons.
