Good Car to get from A to B by EnergyMonkey from Denver on 04/05/2010. Trim: 2002 Dodge Stratus Sedan SXT, Owned 3 years.

Pros: It's pretty comfortable, even with cloth seats, and very spacious so you can easily fit others in the back. The ride is nice too, not too hard or too soft. Interior quality is good, no rattles or anything falling apart after 101k miles, everything feels solid. The car looks good too, the unique looks and alloy wheels give it a cool sporty appearance. Pretty much maintenance free other than oil changes and usual stuff, had some issue with something to do with the engine's air flow (don't remember exactly what was replaced). But one unexpected repair in 40k miles is nothing to worry about.
Cons: No ABS, steering feels disconnected, interior could be better, 4 cylinder version somewhat underpowered, MPG, size. No ABS. There is no feeling of connectedness to the road through the steering wheel, doesn't matter if I'm driving on snow or asphalt, I can't tell the difference. The interior is kind of dull and boring to look at, but what can you expect for the price. If you're going to be carrying people all the time the 4 cylinder does feel underpowered, just get the V6. There also isn't much difference in MPG between the V6 and 4 cylinder, I'm getting 23-26mpg highway and 21-19 city. The size of the car can make it cumbersome to park and it isn't always easy to see out of the back.
Overall review: It's a good reliable car with good looks. There is not a-lot that has gone wrong with it. You might want to look for something else though if you want better MPG.
