Better than expected fuel efficient 4x4 small SUV by David from Ontario on 05/20/2009. Trim: 2001 Suzuki Vitara JX 4-Door, Owned 1 year.

Pros: I love the true four wheel drive capability on a truck style ladder frame. It also gets great gas mileage. I drive at the speed limit now, to conserve gas, and avarage 27 mpg. With gas prices moving back up again, I don't envy those who chose to go with larger SUVs. My off road needs include living in a very snowy part of the world, and I also use it in the spring and summer to find out of the way photography spots. It takes me, my photo gear and my dog anywhere I have asked it to go.

Cons: Sometimes quite bumpy at speed - a drawback of ladder frame rather than independent front and rear suspension.

Overall review: Overall a great little SUV. The true 4x4 capability, combined with good fuel mileage, and decent dependability and reliability are all big pluses, and factored into my decision to buy this vehicle. I'm a happy camper.
