Riding the Coast in My Mirage
by Fun in the Sun on the Run on 12/20/2011.
Trim: 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage ES Sedan, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
Handles easily, Comfortable ride on long distance travel, roomy interior and cargo area.Love the split rear fold down seat. Great gas mileage too!
Cons:
Interior door panel coverings are glued on and do not withstand the Florida heat.
Radio/stereo -- Anti theft feature. We purchased our car 2nd hand and when we had to replace the battery we also need to reset the radio. However, we needed the factory security code which of course the previous owner had neglected to keep! Called Mitsubishi. Well, you have to take the radio out of the dash to retrieve the code and it is located on the top of the radio. Not a hard job , you can do it yourself -- no need to take to a dealer ship.
You can find reset info instructions on the web
Color - Mitsubishi liked green that yr ! Actually it was special order color , go figure.
Overall review:
Overall, I like the car. It's functional; Holds it's value.
Has a nice design and roomy interior, Gets great gas mileage ! 32+ on the highway!
Could use a little more pick up for my taste but, it's a 4 cyl. I am just used to a 6 cyl.
I definitely would recommend the car for all age groups and would consider purchasing another Mitsubishi.
