Bentley Azure, A Craftsmans' Masterpiece by kvarnstrom on 08/10/2009. Trim: 2001 Bentley Azure Convertible, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Exterior and interior design, engine torque, room for 4 adults in a convertible! Exquisite craftsmanship, exclusivity, reliability (yes even the electric parts do work). A piece of hand-crafted art rather than a car. Will last a lifetime or more if the owner/heirs pay attention to regular service performed either by the owner/enthusiast or an authorized service department. I also own a 49 year old Bentley S2 which works as if just out of the factory! Just service your car according to the book!
Cons: Price is high, but after seeing how so many experienced specialists craftsmen do so much work by hand, not with robots or machines, you wonder how they make a profit at the price they sell for. Gas mileage is dismal, not exactly a "green automobile" , but I drive it only on weekends.
Overall review: I bought a used 5-year old Bentley Azure after being on the look-out for several years. The car still looks as if it just rolled out of the new- car dealership and I have not had a single problem. This is a dream car for a convertible enthusiast who wants something that can carry 4 people with room to spare, and in style. Quality is astonishing and craftsmanship is exquisite. You get what you pay for, not only the first day you own it but after 5, 10, even 50 years of ownership. If you buy a car to keep for a long, long time, this may be one of your better decisions in life. If you want to get something different after 3 years, well, you need very deep pockets since a car like this drops in price like a stone for at least the first 3-5 years. But keep it for 20 years or longer, and your purchase may prove to be pretty smart, even from a financial standpoint. Remember last 2 years stock market??
