Safety is further enhanced on the V70 for 2000 with the Volvo-designed Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS) seat technology to help protect front-seat occupants from injury when a rear impact occurs. In addition, Volvo's Stability and Traction Control (STC) is available on the S70 base for the 2000 model year and incorporates Volvo's TRACS traction control technology with Dynamic Stability Control. The 2.4-liter 5-cylinder engine has also been revised to increase output to 168 horsepower.

The Ultimate Sports Family Wagon by Carlos from Fairfax, VA on 04/04/2008. Trim: 2000 Volvo V70 R AWD, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: This car is much better than what I thought. Lots of cargo space, a lot of room on rear seat, we have two kids and need 2 car seats, they don't fit quite write on an regular 4 door or SUV, replaced our 530i for this wagon and we are very happy. We also own an 850 GLT non-turbo and you can tell the wagon really pushes 265HP when you ask her fot them. Excellent handling when exiting the highway, flawless so far, just regular maintenance.

Cons: A little bit noisy, specially when you raise it at 5-6000 rpm and the turbo is at max boost.

Overall review: Excellent sport family wagon!
