Introduction
The first Lincoln to be named the Town Car was introduced in 1981, and the current version has been around since 1990. While it features a modern interpretation of the square, upright styling that has been a Lincoln trademark since the early '60s, the Town Car is very much the traditional large, V8-powered, rear-drive automobile its older, upscale buyers grew up with and with which they are most comfortable. The Town Car was the first Ford product to be powered by the 4.6-liter modular V8, and over the years has been offered in a variety of distinctive trim series. Of these, the Executive is the least expensive.
