Great Value Truck
by Yukon King from Kansas on 11/15/2002.
Trim: 1997 GMC Yukon SLE 4-Door 4WD, Owned 4 years.

Pros:
The ride is extremely comfortable. Very much like a luxury car ride. Looks very nice and exterior finish holding up very well. Overall quite dependable (had for 4 to 5 years now) as I bought it with 21,000 miles and now has 85,000. Yukon sits lower than comparable Fords which makes it easier to get in and out of especially for the ladies (mostly wife's car).
Cons:
At 85,000 miles it is needing some repairs---fuel pump, u-joints and other minor stuff. Make sure you use a higher detergent oil (not Penzoil) in the engine as build-up can occur if you don't. Needed manifold gasket repair at this mileage. If it doesn't need a lot more repair I will continue to be happy with it since I plan on keeping it for a few more years.
Overall review:
Overall, I think it is a good value vehicle for an American made automobile. The 4x4 aspect of this SUV means it will always have a reasonable worth if I want to sell it down the road. GMC put some quality into this one although I realize it comes with a rather high pricetag. I think this a good family vehicle with exceptional resale value.
