Fabulous Choice
by Country boy from the Ozarks on 10/10/2012.
Trim: 1997 GMC Suburban 1500 4WD, Owned 10 years.

Pros:
Have owned it since 2002. Drives great and is easy to get in and out of. Excellent twin air placements to cool off interior. Routinely get 14 and 15 mpg city/hwy driving and have broke 20 on the highway - just barely but it did it.
Cons:
Regular maintaining of vehicle has turned up a few GMC shortcuts in production. But that's unfortunately to be expected with just about all affordable cars and trucks. Twin a/c fans (frt & back) when in use really pull on alternator.
Overall review:
Bought it with 90,000 miles in 2002. Had to replace a tranny at 125,000 and injectors at 160,000. Need to replace upper & lower ball joints at 225,000. I have no complaints about this vehicle. As long as you realize the fuel economy will not be all that great, it is an excellent 4X4 choice.
