Pros:
I liked the overall appearance of vehicle, clean lines and front grille.
Cons:
Found out through personal experience that model has a history of problems with intermediate steering shaft vibration. Also fifth gear in manual transmissions has a tendency to dislodge around 100K miles. Track bar only has service life of 30-40K miles, which was news to me. Vehicle also has a tendency to pull to one side when brakes are warm.
Overall review:
I had waited for several years since introduction of model to determine quality of truck. It's popularity has never decreased. I still like my vehicle very much in spite of the maintenance involved, some of which is not disclosed by Dodge. Most disturbing is dislodgement of a dowel pin in the diesel motors prior to 1998 which will destroy the engine. Manufacturer has knowledge of the problem, but to date will not acknowledge defect or warranty event.
