Pros:
Handling & brake with stock components is nothing short of amazing for a 14 year old GT car. Still turns heads despite the newer E46, E90 & E92 versions that currently share the road. It's not unusual to come out of a restaurant or store to find someone checking my car out then asking questions such as "is it for sale?". Engine & drivetrain are super smooth & quiet.
Cons:
Minor electrical gremlins I'm sorting out, parts aren't cheap and it should have the 321BHP motor thats it's European cousin received, we were robbed of the E36 M3's true potential.
Overall review:
Thus far I've only had to replace a heater hose & alternator at a total expense of approximately $100 since I did all labor myself. The only other expenses have been fluid & filter changes, crankcase, differential etc. etc. Be sure to get a car fax & past maintainence records or walk away as these cars had cooling issues that were taken car of by the previous owner in my case. This may not be the fastest car I've ever owned but it does everything better than most cars claiming the GT status, that includes newer cars. One of the best, if not the best, cars I've ever owned up to this point. If you don't know cars be sure to have one your considering checked out thoroughly. Just because it looks great doesn't mean it is mechanically sound, my M3 fits both prerequsites!
