An incredible toy for the money! by doc M on 02/10/2009. Trim: 1996 Nissan 300ZX T-Roof 2+2, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros: I've owned almost every Datsun / Nissan Z-car since the original 240Z in 1970 and this generation is by far the best all around! The 2+2 model has all the great styling and handling of the 2 seater and gives you a bit more room for all your stuff. It looks, runs, and handles great in its stock form, and with a few aftermarket add-ons like wheels, rear spoiler, exhaust, and intake you have an affordable "Japanese Ferrari". And believe me, the t-tops are far superior to a convertible or sunroof. Where else are you going to find a sports car that is near perfect and virtually bulletproof for this kind of money?
Cons: 1--They quit making them or anything even like them in 1996--dumb move, Nissan! 2--Earlier models had problems with drive shaft vibration. 3--The synchromesh on higher mileage Z's starts to shift a bit rougher.
Overall review: Until I win the lottery or have to start driving a wheelchair, my 1996 300ZX 2+2 will be my baby for the duration. It's by far the finest car I have ever owned.
