Completely Indestructable by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/24/2012. Trim: 1996 Honda Civic DX Coupe, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: Lot's of character! Good engine note, responsive, a real money saver, soft dashboard, not a THING went wrong after 16 years of owning it. (Well engine wise anyway). I'm still running on the original headlight bulbs after 135,000 miles/ 16 years of mostly night driving. In fact only one light ever burnt out.
Cons: Seats are like old sofas, not much refinement to be found, rattles in the interior here and there, huge steering wheel is not suitable for those with lazy steering, A/C broke, very low back seats only suitable for children, A/C lighting on dashboard stopped functioning, had to replace factory speakers, sagging headliner, no tachometer, only 100 horsepower, two small buttons for the horn can be hard to find in the middle of a turn.
Overall review: Most definitely a teenager's car than anything else, with the lack of comfort it has, but it's not bad. If you're looking for something not quite sporty, but peppy, along with gas savings, this is your car! The gas pedal is very touchy and sensitive, so it gives the illusion of power IMO. Good brake feel too. It might not be as refined as a Toyota, but it sure puts a Corolla to shame once you start the engine.
