Big Things Come in Small Packages by Kiliape in Oregon on 05/05/2010. Trim: 1993 Chevrolet S10 Pickup Ext. Cab Short Bed 2WD, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: Although my truck is not a 4wd, it loves to act like one. I have had it everywhere a dirt road pops up and places where I have made my own. Never had a problem with the 5 speed tranny. I bought it used and now has 200,000+ miles. Only two years ago I put a canopy on it, even though the bed is in good shape. No body rust at all. Taking time for preventative maintainance and no accidents is credited for its long life. I will cry when it runs its last mile, IF it ever does.
Cons: My children were just todders and babies when I bought this truck. They had fun sitting in the jump seats. Now, my children are too tall (6' 10" and 6' 4") to even drive it. My intentions at the time of purchase was only as a second vehicle, but as the years went by, I realized that it would not be a vehicle I could pass on to my children. Even though they learned how to drive a stick with it. This truck is a small one.
Overall review: I had no idea what a good deal I got when I bought this vehicle. It runs great, looks good inside and out. Even when it's dirty, it looks good. It's a truck! It has been my buddy for 15 years. I paid $2,600 for it. I don't even think I have spent that much on it outside of regular maintainance. It doesn't even burn oil at this age. It has hauled everything under the sun and towed large vehicles. (Ford F250 if you must know). You can not find a better running truck than this one.
