Solid & Dependable

Pros:
It's ability to get me where I need to go. My Explorer has been good to me. Not really anything about this little gem that I don't like.
Cons:
Seat is a bit uncomfortable on long trips. Mine has limited slip front & rear and does take a little thinking when on ice. I had one window motor go out at 218,000 so I replace them all.
Overall review:
Treat it right, it treats you right. It's no monster off-roader but it will get you out of tight spots. Buy high quality brakes shoes & pads. Run synthetics (royal purple) in ALL cases. I bought mine new in '92' with 8 miles on it. It now has 368,000! I live on the west coast, would not hesitate to drive to the east tomorrow. I drive it decent and do not expect it to pull heavy loads. Motor is small (V6) Trans flush every 30,000 (without fail!) Filled with synthetic fluid, very expensive but very worth it. My tranny shifts like it did the day I brought it home. I also changed ALL U-joints to the greasable type at 20,000 miles and have NEVER had to replace one. If you have a bum Explorer? It is because it has not been maintained and treated well. Mine has and it is rock solid dependable. Keep the kids from behind the wheel and it will last forever.
