Toughest little car ever. by An MSN Autos Consumer on 11/18/2007. Trim: 1990 Volkswagen Golf GL 4-Door hatchback, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros: Never had any major problems. Worst thing that ever went was the alternator. Owned it for 12 years without trouble. Great on Gas. Quick of the line for its size.
Cons: The headliner sagged and eventually crumbled. Had to remove it.
Overall review: The car never failed me and I was sad to let it go! I still see it on the road now and then, wishing I never gave it up.
