RELIABILITY AT ITS BEST. by SST - San Francisco/Los Angeles on 12/03/2010. Trim: 1989 Ford Ranger Reg. Cab Long Bed 2WD, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros: My 1989 Ranger XLT has been trouble free except the fuel pump went out at 202,000mi. It now has 218,000. Slight oil leak from the valve cover which was fixed by a $3 bottle of "Stop Leak". I have had friends and families go through Mitsubishi, Toyota and Nissan. This Ranger outlasted them all. I drive 60 mi a day. I hope Ford does not discontinue the Ranger name. I will keep my Ranger forever, I'll rebuild the engine when time comes but no sign of it yet. My parents brought it when I was a Jr. in High School

Cons: I only wish the paint lasted longer.

Overall review: Excellent Truck. Built very strong and more reliable than any import by far.
