Pros:
Its a GT so it has the nicer body style to it. Has the 1.9L OHC 4cyl with 5-speed. Very quick off the line. Not very good top end though. Only 120mph. Awesome gas mileage, gets at least 35mpg. Has 153,000 miles and runs pretty good. Awesome handling! This little thing will stick to the asphalt thats for sure! Love the hatchback, great for hauling, and the fold down split rear seat is very handy. Escorts are so plentifull that you can find parts cheap and they aren't that diffuclt to work on either. Just got it this year so haven't really had time to test out it's reliability, but if it's anything like the 94 escort I had a few years back it wont be much trouble at all.
Cons:
The interior is small and schrunched up. Didn't even have cup holders and no place to put cup holders. Nice front buckets but sit two average guys in front not much shoulder room, or head room. The gear ratio from 1st to 2nd is too close, it puts the motor past the start of its power band on the 1-2 shift on full throttle take offs, and it makes third bog the motor down a little. Adequate for a stock car, but if you trick this baby out be prepared to do some quick shifting, off the line. The paint isn't very good on the car, I noticed it likes to peel on the hood, and crack on the rear quarter panels. The interior pieces like to come apart easily.
Overall review:
Fun little car. Very good gas mileage, awesome getup and handling. Interior comfort is average. If you're small then you've got it made, because the GT's have some nice front buckets. Interior quality is subpar but afterall it is an econocar.
