7 out of 10 by The Marine from PA on 12/18/2012. Trim: 1988 Pontiac Grand Prix Base (auto), Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Good, nice sized engine, digital display, body style, excellent reliability, fast.
Cons: cheap interior quality, trunk leaks water, poor assembly
Overall review: I just bought a standard 88 Grand Prix a few months ago. It amazingly, only has 60k miles on it. the only problems it has as far as engine is that it needed a replacement serpentine belt, and a tensioner, which I replaced. The interior quality is poor though. It has very heavy wear on the seats and carpeting, and is falling apart at some spots. in the back, the carpeting along the floor on the walls is poorly attached, all bunched up and whatnot. also the carpeting is coming off the lower halves of the doors. Which isn't all that bad, considering the car is 23 years old. as for the exterior, the paint is coming off badly, the tring is coming apart, and falling off ( GRAND PRIX lettering and plastic coating) and the trunk leaks water. In the end, it is an overall good vehicle, it has yet to give me problems, its just the shoddy interior quality and assembly that gives me the problems.
