The longest lasting unibody around by Jammin on 08/27/2008. Trim: 1988 Pontiac 6000 LE, Owned 3 years.
Pros: extremely reliable and fuel efficient, i get around 28 mpg and around 500 kms a tank car got plnty of punch(power) it goesfaster than the speedo says(i guess around 160, speedo says 130), car is also relatiely easy to work on and i would highly recommend this vehicle to others
Cons: ladies and gents. READ THIS, if u like ur pontiac 6000 and want it to last, clean all the rust off where the frame for the back tires connect tothe body, and paint also undercoat yearly!!!!, cuz im on my 2nd pontiac 6000, my first was an 89, itwas never undercoated and the back framefor the tires snapped away from the body(rip), i had to scrap it, i then bought an 88 pontiac 6000that had been undercoated almostevery yearand fixed it up. a few monthes ago i cleaned the frame of rust and painted, probs added an extra 5 years to the cars life.also the alternator likes to let go, and these cars rust around the fenders, bottom of the doors, and around the gas cap.
Overall review: overall, this ar is absolutely amazing the motor in my 88 pontiac 6000 came from my old 89 the motor had a million and two hundred and fifty thousand km on it wen itwas taken out of thecar it has now hadabout another hundrd thousand kms put on it in my 88 pontiac 6000, and shows no signs of dying(high oil pressure, plenty of pep, relable, fuel efficent) 2.8 v6s atre bullet proofmotors if u take care of them(oil change,sparkplugs...etc) i highly recommend these cars(with the 2.8 v6) to anyone who wants an easy to work on car that is extremely reliableand afforrdable.
