A GREAT CAR by An MSN Autos Consumer on 10/03/2006. Trim: 2002 Ford Taurus Wagon SEL Deluxe, Owned 1 year.
Pros: It's a beautifully styled vehicle. Comfortable, I love the ability to extend the peddles & am able to have the seat completely pulled back so it gives me more room between the steering column & the airbag. The visability is fabulous & something I need & want as I travel quite a bit. I wish the gas mileage was better & that I was able to use either type of gas and/or ethynal. I love having air-conditioning & the cruise control, also the automatic mirrors. All in all I'm pleased. The brakes work great and saved my life two weeks ago. I drive my vehicles until they drop dead & my last one was a 1987 Mazda Pickup and I just got my Ford in 2005. This is my first ford. I love it.
Cons: I wish the gas mileage was better and that I was able to use either type of gas/ethynal. The inside windshield is too hard for me to clean so I have to have it done professionally. In the winter when we have ice storms I cannot open my doors if parked outside and.... if you pull on the handles they'll break off. Having driven vehicles with flexible mirrors I'm not in love with the stationary mirrors my driver side mirror has been broken twice at a cost of over $1,200. Not a good thing.. either by me hitting something and/or someone hitting it by walking by to close and walking too fast. I had total failure in the security protection system at a cost of $900.00.
Overall review: It's a beaufiful, comfortable, safe vehicle.
