The 2013 Volkswagen Golf continues to be offered in 2-door and 4-door hatchback versions powered by either a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter inline 5-cylinder engine or the 2.0-liter TDI Clean Diesel that delivers 236 lb-ft of torque with an EPA fuel economy rating of 42 mpg on the highway. The Golf R also continues in limited quantities, powered by a 256-horsepower high-output version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged TSI engine. Standard equipment for the Golf R includes a 6-speed manual transmission, 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, 18-inch wheels and tires, and adaptive bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights.

FUN and practical by very happy driver in NH on 10/14/2012. Trim: 2013 Volkswagen Golf 2.0L TDI 4-Door, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: 4door TDI, just put on my first 1000 miles. Very tight, no rattles, like the pick up, turbo is nice to have, and getting 40 MPG combined, unique neat color, blue graphite, touch screen radio

Cons: cost a little high but hope to keep the car a long time

Overall review: car is living up to very high expectations so far
