The 2006 Subaru Impreza Wagon gets new front end styling, bringing it in line with the new Subaru signature design, featuring a three-section mesh-type grill inspired by the company’s aircraft heritage, plus restyled headlights with smoke-tinted lenses. A new dual-stage Subaru Advanced Airbag System is standard on all 2006 Subaru Impreza Wagons, and the 2.5i gets side airbags. Two different WRX trims are offered for 2006 with the addition of the more luxurious WRX Limited. All WRX wagons get a slight upgrade to 230 horsepower.

Who says a wagon can't be sporty? by Brian from Colorado on 08/19/2008. Trim: 2006 Subaru Impreza Wagon 2.5i, Owned 3 years.

Pros: I love how it handles and engine is powerfull enough to keep up with most wrx's. Lots of storage space and the gas mileage is better than it's rating(+/- 34MPG HWY and 25 city and I don't baby it!). Easy to upgrade, especially suspension parts. Insurance on the 2.5i wagon is CHEAP but the car is faster than any non-turbo car in it's class!

Cons: Rear leg room for an adult is limited but for kids and car seats there is plenty of room! Paint scratches easier than other cars I've owned.

Overall review: I've owned this car since Dec 2005 and it has only had one minor glitch with the engine computer which was fixed quickly and I haven't had any other problems since!! Upgrad the springs with USDM STI pink springs (~$200) and a sti style 21mm rear swaybar(~$120) and you can hang with a wrx or sti through a moutain pass without sacrificing ride quality. Great car, tons of fun to drive and very reliable!
