Pros: Highway gas mileage is higher than the EPA estimate - usually between 33 - 36 MPG, which is great. For a little 4-cylinder turbo, this car really goes. Handling and suspension are mild-stiff, making any drive a fun one. Depreciation is pretty steep, but can be great if you're looking to buy as a second owner. Leather and wood trim look and feel great. Very safe with the ESP and side curtain airbags. The manual mode on the trans is a great option to have when you really want to wind it out. Glove box holds and cools a 6 pack.
Cons: City gas mileage not so great at only about 20 - 21 MPG. Average city / highway is not so bad if you commute on the highway often though. Lots of plastic creaks going on with the interior that takes some getting used do - makes the interior feel less upscale. Have had some issues with brake pads, calipers, rotors, and door locks failing at around 35k, but all fixed by dealer out of warranty.
Overall review: This is my second Saab, first of the GM era. Overall, a great looking car that keeps the Saab-ness, but is a little more mainstream and watered down than previous generations. Nonetheless, it's still a unique car that gets compliments all the time. 2007 and up models have the revised audio / HVAC controls, which is much less cluttered than the previous dash. The turbo on the 2.0T is fantastic and you can pass just about anyone on the highway once it has spooled up. Engineers did a great job as turbo lag and torque steer are not even perceptible on this model. Love the sound of the turbo compressor.
