The 2012 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid is the hybrid version of Porsche’s sport-utility vehicle which is powered by a 333-horsepower supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine combined with a 47-horsepower electric motor incorporated between the engine and the 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission. The combined output of the hybrid system is 380 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque and electricity is stored in a nickel-metal hydride battery pack. The Cayenne S Hybrid achieves an EPA rating of 24 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. The Cayenne S Hybrid can operate in electric-only mode for short distances at speeds as high as 46 mph.
