The all-new 2007 MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper Convertible receive a total makeover and is updated with more power, a more muscular look and new features. Under the hood of the Cooper is a 1.6-liter 4 cylinder that delivers 118 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque while the Cooper S has a brand-new 172-horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that produces 177 lb-ft of torque. A special Overboost function in the Cooper S can increase torque to 192 lb-ft for a short time. Both engines are paired to a standard six-speed manual transmission with an optional six-speed automatic. Inside, a new start/stop button ignition replaces the conventional, new ambient illumination and a larger center speedometer has been enhanced for a new range of functions including the display of controls for the navigation entertainment system. The Cooper comes standard with 15-inch wheels while the Cooper S is equipped with 16-inchers.
