The Elantra uses a 1.8-liter four-cylinder and six-speed automatic that returned a very good 29 mpg overall in our tests. We found the ride to be compliant and handling to be responsive and secure, but road noise is pronounced. The interior is nice and has decent rear-seat room, but the dash vents are positioned too low.

OK, but MPG is inaccurate by An MSN Autos Consumer on 05/12/2012. Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Style, features, tons of trunk space, and cost.
Cons: Listed Gas mileage is inaccurate, seats get stained easily, and big blind spot.
Overall review: The best MPGs that I have gotten is 38 and that was when I was driving 45 MPH. I commute mainly on the Highway, about a 70/30 split between highway and city streets and I average 27 MPG. Have been running a test with this tank of gas and keeping car at 65 MPH or lower and not using the AC; so far average is 32. Car still gets better mileage than my old SUV so I'm not mad, just wish it was constantly between the listed amounts. I have 15,000 ,miles on the car. Other than that I love the car and very happy I got it. :o)
