The Forte is Kia’s compact sedan that is redesigned for 2014 with a new European-inspired design from Kia’s American Design Center in Irvine, Calif. The Forte joined the Kia lineup for the 2010 model year when it replaced the compct Spectra. The 2010 Forte was one of the first vehicles to incorporate Kia’s new design direction with a trapezoidal mesh grille, swept-back headlights and a prominent beltline that rises from front to rear. The original Forte was slightly larger than the Spectra with a greater emphasis on styling, comfort and convenience to deliver the value expected from Kia. Standard safety features include dual-stage front airbags, side curtain airbags, active front head restraints, ABS, four-wheel disc brakes, traction control, electronic stability control and tire-pressure monitoring system.
