The S40 is Volvo’s premium small sedan. The all-new second generation S40 arrived in spring of 2004 as a mid-year model change with Volvo’s Intelligent Vehicle Architecture that integrates crashworthiness, design, and driving characteristics. The S40 was first sold in the U.S. for 2000 after being sold in Europe since 1995. Redesigned for 2008, the all-new S40 receives updates to the exterior that is inspired by the flagship S80. For the interior, the center console, armrest and handbrake have all been redesigned resulting in larger storage space. New safety features are added and the T5 receives a power increase to 227 horsepower.
