Introduction
The Rabbit is Volkswagen’s compact hatchback, which is actually the next generation of the Golf. The Golf will continue to be sold by that name outside of the U.S. The first generation of the Golf was sold in the U.S. as the Rabbit, but the Golf name was adopted for the U.S. market as well with the debut of the second-generation Golf for the 1985 model year. The Rabbit is offered in both two-door and four-door hatchback versions and is designed to deliver a high level of standard equipment at a low starting price.
