The Boxster is Porsche’s mid-engine, six-cylinder roadster that is an all-new design for the 2013 model year with more distinctive shape that includes larger radiator openings at the front, new indentions in the doors to channel the intake air, new convertible top and a prominent edge across the rear of the car from taillight to taillight. The new Boxster is lighter, more fuel-efficient, faster and more agile that its predecessor with a new lightweight design body and a reworked chassis to improve driving dynamics and new electro-mechanical power steering. The Boxster first joined the Porsche lineup for 1997 with Porsche’s new liquid-cooled flat six-cylinder “boxer” engine. The Boxster first debuted as a concept car at the 1993 North American International Auto Show with styling cues from the legendary Porsche 550 Spyder. The Boxster S was added for 2000 with a higher level of performance. The second-generation Boxster debuted for the 2005 model year with updates for the first time since its debut. The Boxster was updated again for 2009 and the lightweight Spyder was offered for the 2011 model year.
