Pontiac Torrent

The 2009 Pontiac Torrent is Pontiac’s first SUV with the exception of the Aztek crossover, which Pontiac dubbed a sport recreation vehicle. Offered in front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, the five-passenger Torrent is based on the same platform as the Chevrolet Equinox but the design incorporates distinctive Pontiac styling cues. For 2008 the high-performance GXP was added to the lineup featuring a boldly styled exterior with a performance-tuned suspension. The 264-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 delivers 250 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a six-speed transmission. Pontiac claims a 0 to 60 mph time of 6.9 seconds with the V6 engine.
