The Outlander is Mitsubishi’s compact, car-based SUV that is built on the same platform as the Lancer sedan. The Outlander was introduced as a 2003 model and combines the cargo capability of a sport utility with the driving dynamics of a passenger car. An all-new Outlander debuted for the 2007 model year based on a new performance-engineered platform that is also the foundation for the next-generation Lancer and Lancer Evolution. The current Outlander is longer, taller and wider than its predecessor. The interior is designed to look and feel more like a sport sedan than a typical compact SUV.
