Introduction

When Mitsubishi introduced the 3000GT in 1991, it squared off against many other entries in the imported high-performance sports-car segment. How times have changed. Nearly all of the 3000GT's Japanese competitors (including a version of the same car sold by Dodge as the Stealth) have been discontinued, due to decreasing sales and changing market preferences. Even though the 3000GT line has a base trim, the car that draws the most attention is the fire-breathing VR-4.
