The E-Class is Mercedes-Benz’s midsize luxury sedan, coupe and convertible. The sedan was redesigned for 2010 and the E-Class Coupe was added, replacing the CLK Coupe in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. For 2011 the E-Class Cabriolet was added, replacing the CLK Cabriolet. The 2010 E-Class represented the ninth generation of the model line, and more than 10 million E-class vehicles have been produced over more than 60 years. The E-Class sedan and coupe both offer V6 and V8 versions as well as the E350 BlueTec diesel sedan and the flagship E63 AMG sedan powered by a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 518 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. In 2012, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet received new powertrains: The E350 got a new 3.5-liter direct-injection V6 engine generating 302 horsepower; and the E550 received a bi-turbo direct-injection 4.6-liter V8 producing 402 horsepower. A new transmission providing better fuel mileage, more responsive driving, quieter operation and increased durability was also added to the E-Class lineup in 2012.
