The Mazda CX-9 is Mazda’s midsize 7-passenger crossover SUV that joined the lineup for 2007. Built on an all-new architecture, the CX-9 shares the V6 engine with the Ford Edge. The CX-9 has an intentional family resemblance to the CX-7, but it is not just a lengthened CX-7. The CX-9 offers easy access to the third-row seat with only one hand operation for an extra 26 inches of space between the folded second-row seat and the door opening. With discontinuation of the MPV minivan, the CX-9 becomes the family vehicle in the Mazda lineup.
