The CX-5 is Mazda’s new compact SUV that debuted as a 2013 model. Mazda describes the CX-5 as the first vehicle to fully encompass SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, Mazda’s engineering-focused philosophy to improve overall vehicle efficiency. Mazda claims that the CX-5 offers best-in-class fuel efficiency with estimated EPA fuel economy of 26 city/33 highway for a front-wheel drive CX-5 equipped with SKYACTIV-MT 6-speed manual transmission and 26 city/32 highway with SKYACTIV-Drive 6-speed automatic. The all-wheel-drive version is available only with SKYACTIV-Drive and achieves an EPA rating of 25 city/30 highway.
