The Lexus LFA is the new flagship supercar for Lexus that is a front engine rear-wheel drive configuration and features a Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) chassis and bodywork for a light, strong structure. The LFA is powered by a 553-horsepower 4.8-liter V10 engine linked by a rigid torque tube to a 6-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox (ASG) mounted in a rear transaxle configuration. Only 500 examples of the LFA are planned and each will be hand assembled at the Motomachi Plant in Toyota City at a rate of no more than 20 per month. The acoustics of the LFA’s V10 engine have been tuned for a unique and Formula 1-inspired sound. The LFA is capable of a top speed of 202 mph.
