The GS is Lexus’ midsize sedan,that debuted in 1993 as the GS 300. The V8-powered GS 400 was added when the GS was redesigned for 1998. For 2001 the GS received design and safety refinements and the GS 400 became GS 430 with the addition of the 4.3-liter V8. In 2008, the GS 460 replaced the 450 to reflect the increase of engine displacement to 4.6 liters in the V6 and the ES 350 replaced the ES 300, also indicating an increase in engine size to 3.5 liters. The GS also receives minor updates to the exterior and interior for 2008.
