The Infiniti M is Infiniti's mid-luxury sedan that was redesigned for the 2011 model year with more aggressive styling and a choice between two, more powerful engines. The original M45 debuted as a 2003 model and sold for just two model years. The second-generation M debuted in early 2005 as a 2006 model, built on the same FM (front mid-engine) rear-wheel-drive platform used for the G35 and the FX. The conservative front-end design bore a strong family resemblance to the G35 and the overall silhouette had an elegant yet sporty look. Infiniti designers described the interior of the M as inspired by a piano keyboard with standard satin-finish rosewood trim. Described when it debuted as the most technically advanced vehicle ever from Infiniti, the M offered a lane departure warning system, intelligent key with push-button starting, adaptive front lighting system, rear view monitor, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, intelligent all-wheel drive, Bose Studio Surround Sound System, and rear active steering.
