The Civic Hybrid is Honda’s compact hybrid sedan based on the Civic that is redesigned for the 2012 model year with an increase in size but a similar look to the previous model. The new Civic Hybrid features the latest generation of Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist with a lithium-ion battery, the first use of a lithium-ion battery in a Honda hybrid. The Civic was first introduced as a small, inexpensive hatchback in 1972 and has increased in size while continuing to offer excellent fuel economy. The Civic Hybrid sedan was added to the lineup for 2003, featuring a fuel-efficient gas-electric hybrid powertrain. Honda introduced an all-new second-generation Civic Hybrid for the 2006 model year.
