The 2+2 coupe has been part of the Ferrari model lineup for much of the company's history, and it is the 456 GT, introduced in 1993, that occupies that place today. While its Pininfarina-designed body is thoroughly modern, the model is nevertheless intended to evoke the classic shapes of earlier Ferrari 2+2 coupes. The 456 GT's powertrain is classic Ferrari as well: a front-mounted V12 engine feeding power to a rear-mounted gearbox. Electronically controlled suspension dampers allow the driver to adjust the chassis to suit a variety of driving conditions.
