Introduction
The 2009 Dodge Durango HEMI Hybrid is the new hybrid version of Dodge’s full-size Durango SUV that combines a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine and electric motors for fuel economy improvements of 40 percent in city driving and 25 percent overall. The 2009 Dodge Durango and 2009 Chrysler Aspen HEMI Hybrids are Chrysler’s first hybrid vehicles and feature a two-mode hybrid system and the two different modes of hybrid operation result in fuel-economy improvements for both city and highway driving. Still capable of towing up to 6,000 lbs., the Durango HEMI Hybrid also features 4-wheel drive for off-road capability.
