The A6 Avant is Audi’s premium midsize wagon that first debuted as a 1995 model, replacing the Audi 100 wagon. It received its first redesign in the 1999 model year. The allroad quattro and the S6 Avant were both based on the A6 Avant and were added as separate models in 2001 and 2002, respectively. For 2005 the A6 sedan was redesigned and there was no 2005 A6 Avant. The A6 Avant eventually rejoined the lineup as a 2006 model.
